LEARNING
Why does Morsel start with S and O?
S is three short and O is three long, the clearest pair in Morse. Together they spell SOS, so your first lesson ends with a word you can key. From Lesson 2 the course adds letters in Morsel order, which builds real words early and keeps easily confused letters apart. Read about the method.
I can't hear anything.
Turn the volume up. Morsel plays even in Silent mode, unless Respect Silent mode is on in Settings › Tone & sound. If sound can’t start, haptics and light still teach.
On this website, sound starts with your first press of a key, and the speaker key turns it off.
Can I learn without sound?
Yes. In Settings › Accessibility, Listen by touch plays listening drills as vibration only, at a slower speed you can feel, and Show signals as light makes the display glow with every dit and dah. Both work with VoiceOver, and Reduce flashing follows your iOS setting.
I feel no vibration.
iOS has its own Vibration switch in Settings › Accessibility › Touch, which Morsel can’t read. If the haptics test in Morsel’s Settings › Haptics is silent under your thumb, check that switch.
What notifications does Morsel send?
With notification permission, Morsel schedules local notices, at most one a day. The daily reminder includes a practice reminder at your time, skipped on days you have practiced; a Sunday recap after a week with practice; one quiet note if you haven’t opened Morsel for 14 days. A separate trial reminder can notify you in time to cancel, and a billing notice may warn you before Pro pauses after a renewal problem. No streaks and no badges. In Settings › Reminders, change the daily time or switch daily and trial reminders off separately. Daily off also stops recaps and the return note. To stop every Morsel notification, including billing notices, use iPhone Settings › Notifications › Morsel.
How do I add the widgets?
Touch and hold an empty area of your Home Screen, choose Edit, then Add Widget, and search for Morsel. You can add Letter of the Day, Next Lesson and Practice Log. The Morse Key and Practice controls are in the Control Center and Lock Screen galleries.
MORSEL PRO
What is free, and what is Morsel Pro?
Lesson 1, with S, O and SOS, is free and always yours to replay, and once you pass it the Signal Quiz on the letters is free too. Morsel Pro unlocks every later lesson and checkpoint, numbers, signs and prosigns, review, the practice set, the quiz's numbers, signs and keying, and the SEND, HEAR, FREE and CHART modes. Prices and any trial are shown by the App Store, in your currency, before you confirm.
How do I see when my free trial ends?
Open Settings › Morsel Pro. While a trial is running it shows when the trial ends and the time to cancel by, 24 hours before the end, as the App Store reports them. Cancel or change plan opens Apple’s subscription sheet. Cancel during the trial and Morsel Pro stays on until it ends, with nothing charged.
How do I restore Morsel Pro on a new iPhone?
Open Settings › Morsel Pro and choose Restore purchases, or press RESTORE at the bottom of the Morsel Pro screen. Use the Apple Account that made the purchase.
How do I cancel or manage a subscription?
Cancel any time. In Morsel, choose Cancel or change plan in Settings › Morsel Pro, or open the iPhone’s Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions, and choose Morsel. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription. Refunds are handled by Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com.
I have an offer code.
In Morsel, open Settings › Morsel Pro and choose Redeem code. You can also redeem it in the App Store: tap your account picture, then Redeem Gift Card or Code.
YOUR DATA
Where is my progress stored?
On your iPhone. Morsel has no account and does not sync through iCloud. Your progress, name and settings live only on the device, and deleting the app deletes them. A backup of your iPhone may include them. To start over without deleting, use Settings › Privacy & data › Reset progress: it clears lessons, statistics and the practice log and starts a new analytics ID, and keeps your name, settings and Morsel Pro. Morsel also keeps a local recovery copy from before the reset.
Does Morsel send analytics?
Only if you say yes. During setup Morsel asks once whether to share usage data; nothing is sent before you answer, and nothing at all if you choose Don’t share. Change your answer anytime in Settings › Privacy & data. Usage events carry a random install ID, not your name or anything you key or type. Your choice never changes what Morsel or Morsel Pro can do.
How do I ask you to delete my data?
In Settings › Privacy & data, choose Ask us to delete it. It opens an email to support@morseltrainer.com with both random IDs already filled in: the analytics ID, shown under Your data, and the purchases ID that RevenueCat uses. That is all we need. You can also write to us yourself and include them. Within 30 days we delete the analytics data linked to the analytics ID from Mixpanel and the purchase record linked to the purchases ID from RevenueCat, and reply to confirm.
See the privacy policy for what is collected and why.
